Microplastic causes:
- Component of many detergents and cosmetics
- Synthetic fibers are washed out in washing machine
- Loss of plastic pellets in the production
- Plastic waste does not decompose, it breaks only in smaller peaces!
Problems:
- Difficulty of cleaning
- Free POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants - pollutants - for example, heavy metals and PCBs) can dock onto micro plastic and thus enter the food chain
